ACTIVE MEMBERS include any doctor of medicine or osteopathy of good professional standing who is actively engaged in the practice of medicine requiring a legal medical license and registration in Missouri.
PART-TIME ACTIVE MEMBERS practice less than 20 hours per week.
CORRESPONDING MEMBERS reside or practice outside of District 8 as defined by the MSMA. Physicians who practice 25 miles outside of Springfield but within District 8 may also choose corresponding status.
HONOR MEMBERS have reached the age of 70 and are still practicing medicine full or part-time.
RETIRED MEMBERS have retired from the practice of medicine.
RESIDENT ASSOCIATE MEMBERS are those engaged in a recognized post-graduate training program that must be qualified by a letter from the head of their residency program. Resident Associate members do not have voting privileges but may participate in all activities of the GCMS.
