Paul Carrick Trust Arthritic Education Grant Program

Background
The Paul Carrick Trust was established in 1986 to support individuals afflicted with arthritic conditions. The Greene County Medical Society (GCMS) Foundation administers the trust and provides funding to educational institutions that train students who will help care for patients with arthritis and related musculoskeletal conditions.
Funding Available
For the 2026 grant cycle, the Paul Carrick Trust will distribute a total of $10,000 to qualifying educational institutions in Southwest Missouri. Institutions may distribute the awarded funds among their selected student applicants as they deem appropriate.
Eligible Applicants
Missouri educational institutions that train students in healthcare fields are eligible to apply. This includes programs in:
• Medicine and Pre‑Medical Studies
• Nursing
• Physical Therapy
• Occupational Therapy
• Allied / Ancillary Health Professions
Preference will be given to programs that demonstrate a clear connection between student training and the care of patients with arthritic conditions.
Application Requirements
Each institution should submit a proposal containing the following information:
1. Project Description – Describe the educational program, initiative, or scholarship support. Include the amount of funding requested (preferably in the first paragraph).
2. Arthritis Care Impact – Explain how the proposed program or supported students will help individuals afflicted with arthritic conditions.
3. Project Budget – Provide a clear budget describing how the requested funds will be used.
4. Student Impact – Estimate the number of students who will benefit from this funding.
5. Contact Information including address and email address.
Application Timeline
Applications will be accepted beginning March 20th.
All applications must be received by May 1.
